2020-04-17

On 7th March 2020, Global Pioneer Assurance (“GPA”,of which Frontier Services Group is the initiator and largest shareholder) obtained official approval for non-life insurance business license from ARCA, the local insurance regulator in the Democratic Republic of Congo (“DRC”). The entire GPA team took immediate action and formally launched business.

Under the impact of COVID-19, the DRC government, the local society and enterprises took serious measures to prevent and contain the epidemic. To protect the health of its clients and employees while following government and public requirements for epidemic prevention, GPA postponed offline publicity activities and client visits. Instead, the team explored alternative online approaches such as internet, phone calls and emails to carry out efficient point-to-point interaction with clients.

With the efforts of its team, while benefiting from its shareholder background, professional capabilities, insurance products and service concept, GPA successfully won clients’ recognition at the very beginning. China Nonferrous Metal Mining Group Co., Ltd. (“CNMC”) has significant investment in DRC and operates multiple mining projects.Kambove mining project is one of the remarkable achievements made by Chinese and DRC enterprises in production capacity and mutual benefit cooperation in line with the Belt and Road Initiative. After getting full knowledge of GPA, CNMC decided to entrust GPA as the provider of engineering insurance for this project.

GPA will endeavor to provide quality services and live up to the trust of the client. It will also take this momentum to win more opportunities to serve the institutions, local enterprises and international investors in DRC, thus contributing to the local economic stability and prosperity.

Apart from business, GPA cares about the DRC society and proactively responds to ARCA’s call to fight against COVID-19 by joining hands with insurance peers in donating epidemic-prevention materials. All united, we shall overcome the difficulties together!
