JOB DESCRIPTION- Operations Manager

Job Position Title: Operations Manager Division/Department: FSG EA
Category of Contract: Full-time employment Legal Entity/Working Location: Nairobi

Job Purpose: 

The Operations manager will be responsible for Planning and oversight for company-wide operations including strategic planning, development of policy and procedures as well as vendor relations while reporting to Country Manager of FSG EA.

Responsibilities (Functions and duties):

Business Development and Commercial: 
  Drive seamless integration between Business development and Operations departments
  Develop strong relationships/partnerships with key vendors essential to core business and conduct performance reviews of vendors on a continuous basis.
  Assist and support with technical capabilities for client needs to promote FSG EA services
  Represents the organization at various business meetings.
  Monitor the industry and analyze trends, pricing and opportunities
  Provide support and input to FSG EA proposals and tenders 

Operations: 
  Plan, direct, or coordinate the operations of FSG EA.  
  Interact with management of affiliate companies to formulate policies, strategy, daily operations, and the utilization of materials and human resources.  
  Lead Strategic Planning for the Department with Country Manager
  Develop effective policy and procedures to streamline operations.
  Build capacity to address key shortfalls in the region through partnerships, project development and building of in-country capacity
  Organizing and analyzing the assessment of capacities of local partners and suggesting the appropriate response to their needs
  Design and deliver training and organizational development support to meet the needs of the program 
  Act as the coordination and liaison point for FSG EA and ensure project risks are actively identified and managed
  Development and continuous review of the Project Strategy
  Management and supervision of the project implementation
  Setting up an Operations room and managing an operations room
  Undertaking Training and mentoring

Experience: 
  5 years Kenya experience, 3 years Somalia experience, and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.  
  Military background experience required.
 
Qualifications: 
  Academic: International Safety and Security trainings. 
  
Specialist knowledge required: 
  Must possess strong organizational skills, excellent verbal/written communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills.  
  Must be able to cope with multiple priorities.  
  Must present professional demeanor and possess excellent customer service skills with clients and individuals at all levels of the organization.
